Vata – movement & lightness

A traditional Ayurvedic perspective on movement, creativity and change.

Vata – Movement and Creativity

In Ayurveda, Vata represents the elements of air and space. It governs movement, breathing, circulation, the nervous system, communication and mental activity.

People with a dominant Vata constitution are often creative, spontaneous, enthusiastic and interested in many different things. They think quickly, enjoy change and have a vivid imagination.

When Vata becomes imbalanced, it may lead to restlessness, nervousness, sleep problems, dry skin, irregular digestion or exhaustion. Warmth, regular meals, sufficient rest and a structured daily routine can help restore Vata’s natural balance.
